2018 was all about getting out there and sharing G’s art and our story. It was a great year!
*We gained over 400 followers on Facebook and Instagram (yes, I’m sure many are duplicates - but still)!
*We sold over $2,500 worth of art that went directly to the International Foundation for Cdkl5 Research!
*We met lots of super friendly and encouraging people. And we had fun!
2019 is all about Awareness. It is my goal to get at least one display of G’s art out there somewhere. We are working on a special Rare Starfish collection. A series of 12, one for each month of the year, that I hope to frame and display. (I also hope to make a calendar for 2020!) What is a Rare Starfish? Cdkl5 Deficiency Disorder (CDD) is one of over 7,000 identified rare diseases. The rare disease community often includes zebra stripes in their imaging and the IFCR has adopted the starfish as the symbol of their organization because it reminds them to keep going and never give up. It was inspired by the story The Starfish Thrower.
So...zebra starfish...Rare Starfish.
I have some thoughts on who I can approach to host our display and I will be sure to shout out loud about it when something is secure.
A display of the Rare Starfish collection by G to raise awareness of Cdkl5 Deficiency Disorder. It will be great!
